Fry Elementary School Weekly Announcements 8/20/18
Welcome Back! We are excited to see everyone TOMORROW!
First Day Procedures
Students in Grades 1-5 should line up outside (front grass area near parking lot) starting at 8:50. Each teacher will have a sign for their class. Students arriving by bus will be escorted to their class line by staff members. Students will enter the building with their teacher at 9:05. Parents should not park in the front circle. Please walk or park on the street in designated areas.
As a reminder, all visitors to the school must sign in at the office. If you need to come to the office on Tuesday morning, please wait until all students have entered, then use the regular guest procedures (enter using doorbell at door #1).
***If it is raining at 8:50, staff will greet students at front/back doors and assist them in finding their classrooms.***
On Wednesday we will begin our regular morning arrival plan (see below).
Beginning Wednesday, students may enter school via doors #1 & 10 in the front of the school (office and kindergarten doors), the back door #9 by the playground, or door #4 by the gym (carline drop off). Staff are present at these doors 15 minutes before the bell (8:50 daily, 9:00 on Wednesday).
At the end of the day, students who are “walkers” are dismissed at 3:35 at the following locations:
Kdg. - Door #10 (front)
*1st & 2nd Grade – Door #9 (playground) (*note the change from previous years)
3rd & 4th Grade – Door #7 (back center of school)
5th Grade – Door #8 (playground)
Students meeting siblings/friends will first be dismissed out their own grade level door. We encourage the older student to then walk to the dismissal location of the younger student to meet up.
Students using the carline, riding the bus, going to the YMCA program, or taking a daycare van will be assisted through the dismissal process by our staff.
Tuesday is Kindergarten visitation day. Students attend with their parents (Last name A-M 10:00, N-Z 11:00). Beginning Wednesday morning kindergarten students arrive for their first day using regular arrival procedures. Kindergarten students need a lunch and a snack on Wednesday!
Parents should review the Fry Parent Handbook, found on the Fry Website.
Dogs on School Property-PLEASE READ!
Please note below, copied from the Fry Handbook:
Pets, of any kind, may not be brought into school without prior administrative approval. We strongly discourage families from bringing pets onto school property. However, if parents do bring dogs to school during drop off/pick up, they must be leashed and kept away from sidewalk areas, entry/exit doors, congested areas/routine walking routes, and the playground. In summary, no student should have to walk past your pet as they arrive to or exit school. Thank you for your cooperation.
