Weekly Announcements 8-27-18
Fry Elementary School Weekly Announcements 8/27/18
We had a GREAT first week! TEAM FRY is off to a fantastic start!
Our arrival/dismissal procedures are getting smoother each day. Thank you for your patience!
Please note, students should know/have a consistent dismissal plan when they come to school each day. Please do not call the office with dismissal instructions during the day. These calls should be for emergency situations only. Last minute changes cause confusion for students and staff.
For parents meeting students at door #9 (playground area) after school, please wait/gather on the blacktop, not the sidewalk. With the number of students exiting, it may be better to establish a meeting place away from the doorway. Thank you!
Fry Curriculum Night
FRY CURRICULUM NIGHT is WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 12th.
Classroom teachers will begin presenting at 6:30 in their classrooms. The first session will end at 7:10. Teachers will present a second identical presentation from 7:20-8:00. This allows parents to attend sessions in two classrooms if needed. This evening is for parents/guardians only.
There will be an optional Chromebook Parent Information session for parents of students in grades 2-5. This session will be in the gym starting at 5:45.
Please note grade level recess and lunch times below:

Students should bring a lunch to school with them each day or plan on purchasing hot lunch. Students place hot lunch orders in the morning. If you are bringing your child’s lunch to school, it must be in the office prior to the start of their lunch period. If a student does not have a lunch at lunchtime, they will use their lunch card to get a hot lunch based on remaining choices.
Parents should read the Fry Parent Handbook, found on the Fry Website. We will ask you to sign off on review at Curriculum Night.
District 204 will continue to use aimswebPlus literacy and math assessments for K-8 students. Please read the attached District communication for more information.
Dogs on School Property-PLEASE READ!
Please note below, copied from the Fry Handbook:
Pets, of any kind, may not be brought into school without prior administrative approval. We strongly discourage families from bringing pets onto school property. However, if parents do bring dogs to school during drop off/pick up, they must be leashed and kept away from sidewalk areas, entry/exit doors, congested areas/routine walking routes, and the playground. In summary, no student should have to walk past your pet as they arrive to or exit school. Thank you for your cooperation.
