Chick-Fil-A Night 11/26

We are sure you will be tired of turkey and stuffing by Monday, so please stop by Chick-Fil-A on Rt. 59 between 5-8:00pm. A portion of your purchase will be donated to Fry. Freddy will be there too!

Fry Families United Night (FFUN) : 12/5 6pm

Counting down to FFUN (FRY Families United Night) on December 5, 2018 @ 6.00 p.m!

FRY PTA and PDAC extends a warm welcome to all Fry Families to spend this evening with us. Our theme this year, “One Country - Many Cultures” is your passport to travel the world of cultures at FRY. We have a wonderful evening planned with games, crafts, cultural display booths, entertainment, and food. If this sounds like fun to you, please consider getting involved to make this event a success.

We love volunteers!! The FFUN team welcomes parent volunteers for the following:
Food Donations :
Please consider bringing a nut-free dish in small bite sized pieces to share. It could be a family recipe, a favorite dish you whipped up on a snowy afternoon, or a store bought item. We would appreciate an ingredient list attached to your contribution.

Day of the event :
Are you a genius at organizing, love the arts and crafts, just want to be involved? We need your help. We have an amazing array of fun activities planned for the evening of December 5th and welcome volunteers to assist on the day of the event.

Toiletry Gift Basket Drive: 11/26-12/7

Fry and Peterson PTA are collecting items for hygiene gift baskets. The gift baskets are donated to identified middle school students in our school district. If you would like to donate, here is a list of needed items (all ages, male or female):
-Toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss
-Soap (bars or shower gel)
-Shampoo and conditioner
-Face wash
-Hair brushes/Combs
-Ear buds (for chromebooks)
-Gift cards to Target or Walmart (please write the amount on the gift card)

Junior Great Books
Don’t forget to register your child for Junior Great Books, the book club for 2nd to 5th grade students. For those not familiar with the program, JGB is similar to a book club in which students read selected short stories from a JGB book and then meet to discuss what they have read. JGB combines interpretive discussion and activities with outstanding literature to encourage students to think critically as they read. JGB is a wonderful program for students who enjoy reading and discussing stories.
The sessions will be held on Tuesdays during the student’s lunch and recess period. Please be sure your child is willing to give up recess for this commitment. Due to time constraints, we ask that students bring a nut free lunch from home on JGB days (as opposed to getting hot lunch).
The program begins on January 22, 2019, and lasts 9 weeks. If your child would like to participate, please complete and return the attached form to his or her classroom teacher along with the appropriate participation fee ($25.00 if a new book is needed or $5.00 if the book is not needed. There is a limited supply of used books available for 2nd grade only). Please do not staple the check to the form. The deadline is Friday, November 30, 2018.
