Fry Elementary School Weekly Announcements 9/30/19

Happy Foxtober!

School attendance is essential to academic success. Did you know that absenteeism in the first month of school can predict attendance throughout the school year? Research shows that half the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school by the end of the year ( Remember any lost class time, whether excused or unexcused, results in missed learning opportunities. Help your children develop positive habits for attendance from an early age!

Vision & Hearing Screenings

We are beginning mandated vision and hearing screenings through the Fry Health Office. All students in K through 3rd grade, and selected students in grades 4 and 5 will be screened for vision and/or hearing. If your child wears glasses, please make sure they have them at school.

Vision screening is not a substitute for a complete eye and vision evaluation by an eye doctor. Your child is not required to undergo this vision screening if a report from an optometrist or ophthalmologist has been completed/submitted to school (administered within the last 12 months). If an examination report is not on file at the school, students in the mandated age/grade/group will be screened.
If you have any questions about the screenings, please contact Mrs. Barta in the Fry Health Office.
