Weekly Announcements 2-5-18
Fry Elementary School Weekly Announcements 2/5/18
Today students will bring home Yearbook order forms. This is the only opportunity to order a yearbook this year. Orders are due this Friday, Feb. 9th.
18-19 Kindergarten Information
Please complete and return the attached forms (attn. Fry office) if you have a child who will be attending Kindergarten this fall (age 5 on or before Sept. 1, 2018). Please share these forms with any neighbors who don’t already have a connection to our school. Thanks!
While our absence/illness rates are on par with typical January/February numbers, please be reminded of the following health policies:
If your child has had a temperature of 100 degrees or greater, they should be fever free at least 24 hours off of fever reducing medications before returning to school. The child whose temperature is lowered with Tylenol or Motrin is still contagious to others. Students with vomiting or diarrhea should be vomit or diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school. Any student positive for strep throat should be treated with appropriate antibiotics for at least 24 hours to be considered noncontagious. However, if your child is still feeling quite ill after 24 hours they should remain at home until they are able to function normally at school.
If you have questions, please contact the health office to talk through specific concerns.
Please remember to call the attendance line (428-7402) before 9 AM to report your child’s absence. You can call this number anytime, day or night, to leave absence info.
Teachers will send specific info regarding upcoming classroom valentine exchanges. Please remember, food treats are not allowed. If your child is participating, please purchase valentines without candy. Pencils, eraser, stickers, etc. are options. Thank you!
HELP!! Part-time Crossing Guard Needed – Tuesday/Thursday afternoons only

It's about more than just running. Challenge yourself to be part of something big in 2018. Consider signing up for Team IPEF and running in the 6th Annual Healthy Driven Naperville Half Marathon as a charity partner. Team IPEF offers a unique opportunity to run for a cause and make a difference for your school. Last year 335 runners raised more than $178,000 to help enrich education in all 33 of our District 204 schools.
Runners commit to raise a minimum of $204 for 204 as they train and complete the half marathon or 5K on Sunday, October 21, 2018. All charity runners receive a discount off race registration and get to choose a District 204 school they would like to represent. Visit https://www.ipef204.org/teamipef/ to learn more or sign-up.
