Book Check-Out Hours

9:00 - 3:35PM
A flexible book check out schedule includes individuals and small groups (no more than 5 students at a time) coming to the LMC throughout the day/week. If for some reason, teachers must bring their whole class to check out books, please discuss this with the LMC staff prior to the scheduled day.

Student Circulation Procedures
Kindergarten: 1 Book (to start the year)
1st - 5th Grade: 2 Books (A student may have an additional book if assigned by a teacher)

The loan period for books is two weeks. The books may be renewed once. Students may come to the LMC as often as necessary to check out materials. If a student believes that he/she has returned the book, please refer them to LMC staff.

Lost or Damaged Materials

Students will be expected to cover the cost of replacing a damaged or lost book. Check out privileges will be suspended until the replacement cost of a damaged or lost book has been received. Replacement cost for a lost book will be requested after a search by the student and the LMC staff has been made. After the second overdue notice has been sent, a letter will be sent home with the title and amount due of the lost item. If the lost item is found, the payment will be reimbursed.

Library Cards

Each student has his/her own library card. Library cards are to be kept in the classroom. Teachers are responsible for the management of their student's cards. Keeping the card in good condition is the responsibility of the student.  The LMC should be notified immediately if a card is lost, found, or damaged. Students losing library cards are responsible for a replacement cost of $1.00.
