Fry Elementary Weekly Announcements 9/7/21
We hope you had a wonderful Labor Day holiday! Today is Building Institute Day. Our staff is hard at work at school. We look forward to seeing students back at school tomorrow!
The 20-21 Yearbooks have arrived! They will be distributed to those who purchased later this week. We will communicate a plan to get yearbooks to our now 6th grade students shortly.
Notification of Positive COVID-19 Cases in Schools
Positive cases of COVID-19 in district 204 schools can be found on the District's COVID Dashboard. The dashboard includes all positive cases of COVID-19 reported to District 204 for individuals who were on campus. The information is updated each Monday by 4 pm.
If your child is in close contact with someone who tested positive, a member of the COVID-19 Response Team will notify you directly regarding the need to quarantine as a precaution. Additional information found on this page includes the current transmission level and a link to the corresponding mitigation strategies.
Please note: 3rd Grade walkers are now being dismissed at Door #6 (northside/back of school). 2nd and 4th Graders continue to dismiss at Door #7, 5th Grade at Door #8, Kindergarten and 1st Grade at Door #9 (near playground).
Families should be able to determine a consistent dismissal plan. Once decided, please notify the teacher(s) and make sure students know the plan. We ask families to stick with one consistent dismissal plan, as changes present increased chance for confusion/error. Any dismissal plan changes should be communicated in writing to the classroom teacher and confirmed in advance. Please do not call the office during the school day to change dismissal procedures.
Please continue to pack an extra mask in your child’s backpack (in a Ziploc bag). We also have a supply of extra paper masks at school, if needed. Thank you!
No Parking Areas
Thank you for observing the posted “no parking” areas on Tall Grass Dr., Brooksedge Ave., Sunburst Ln. and Grassmere Rd.
Please note, yellow curbs are also no parking areas. These limitations exist to aid the flow of traffic and promote safety. Please model appropriate pedestrian safety for our kids by using crosswalks and avoid cutting through parked cars to cross roadways.
A reminder that the staff parking lot should not be used for parent parking during arrival/dismissal. Parents/students cannot safely access this area during this time due to carline traffic. Thank you!
Bikes on School Grounds
For safety reasons, we ask that students and parents/guardians walk their bikes on school property, and other crowded sidewalk areas, when coming to/leaving school.
