Fry Elementary Weekly Announcements 10/4/21

Happy FOXtober!

In the past, "Foxtober" has been the theme for our fall PTA fundraiser. With our new fundraiser successfully completed, the Fry Foxes will celebrate the change of seasons in other ways. Stay tuned for more information on "fall fest" parties and Halloween plans!

Picture Retakes

Picture Retake Day is this Thursday. Any student who was not present at school on our initial picture day in September will have their picture taken. The office has sent a reminder flyer/envelope.

If you would like to have a picture retake for your child, you must send the purchased picture package back to school. Please attach a note that you would like a retake. Please do this before Thursday so we can create our retake list accordingly.

If you have any questions, please call the office.

LMC Volunteers

Fry Elementary School’s Library Media Center is looking for more volunteers! Our LMC is in need of your support. If you can spare just two hours every week throughout the year, you can help us provide a stronger library program for our children. Volunteering in the LMC will allow you to learn more about your child’s school experience. It’s a fun way to get involved that doesn’t require specialized skills. All you need is a little time and a desire to help. Please consider volunteering in the LMC by copy and pasting the link below. Thank you!

ParentVue Reminder

A reminder to parents that many teachers use the ParentVue system for regular communication (i.e. weekly newsletters). Please make sure you login when notified that you have a message. Thank you!

Morning Drop-Off

Families who use the carline for morning drop-off must pull all the way forward in the line whenever possible (think of the carline as a giant “U”. We fill the WHOLE “U” during drop-off, even the part well past the gym door, almost all the way up to the STOP sign.)

We cannot allow cars to stop at the gym door to avoid having students walk, as this causes delays for everyone. Staff are on duty to assist and supervise.

As an alternative, parents are welcome to park on Grassmere Dr., east of the parking lot, and escort students to the gym door if they wish to do so.

Volunteer Vaccination Requirement

On August 26, 2021 Governor Pritzker issued Executive Order 2021-20 requiring all school personnel to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and become fully vaccinated. School personnel is defined as “any person who (1) is employed by, volunteers for, or is contracted to provide services for a School or school district serving students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, or who is employed by an entity that is contracted to provide services to a School, school district, or students of a School, and (2) is in close contact (fewer than 6 feet) with other persons in the School for more than 15 minutes at least once a week on a regular basis as determined by the School.”

Volunteers at our school need to show proof of a Covid-19 vaccination. Please plan accordingly as you will be asked to complete a form and show the documentation for our records. We will view your documentation but will not take a copy. Once completed, the form will stay on file.

Dogs on Campus

Please keep dogs leashed and at a distance, away from the playground, bike rack, entry/exit doors, etc. Pets on campus should not be near students. Thank you!
