Fry Elementary Weekly Announcements 11/22/21

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the week of family time!

Thank you!

Fry’s annual Thanksgiving food drive was a success! Thank you for all the donations. It was fun to see students taking part again this year! Because of your generosity, we were able to donate huge food baskets, along with generous grocery gift cards, to ten local families.

Monday Conferences

A reminder that parent/teacher conferences continue all day and evening today, Monday, November 22nd. These conferences will be held virtually. Please see your sign-up in ParentVue for the classroom teacher’s zoom link.

Test to Stay Program

In accordance with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) for schools that serve students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12, Indian Prairie School District 204 is implementing a Test to Stay program at Fry Elementary.

Test to Stay protocols can be used to keep students in school when identified as a close contact to a positive case of COVID-19 during the school day. This allows asymptomatic, unvaccinated students to avoid quarantine or exclusion by testing on days one, three, five, and seven after exposure to COVID-19 as long as they continue to test negative and remain asymptomatic.

District 204 has contracted with Northshore Clinical Labs which will provide test kits for the Test to Stay program to be administered by nurses at our school. Parents will need to give consent for their child to participate in the Test to Stay program.

Please see the Test to Stay FAQ for more information.

Gifts of Gratitude

The Indian Prairie Educational Foundation (IPEF) is offering the opportunity to honor a special IPSD 204 teacher or staff member through their ‘Gifts of Gratitude’ program. Share your appreciation by making a tax-deductible donation to IPEF on behalf of your honoree through December 10th. Your honoree receives a personalized certificate prior to the holiday break to commemorate your gratitude and their name is displayed on the IPEF website’s ‘Wall of Gratitude’ that recognizes outstanding educators.

Your tax-deductible Gifts of Gratitude donation supports IPEF’s Teacher Innovation Grants program. Gifts of any size are meaningful, welcome and discreet – donation amounts are not disclosed to the honoree.
