We appreciate your support as the Fry PTA begins fundraising efforts! The month is filled with fantastic activities students will enjoy. Community support of our PTA is vital to make so many great things happen at Fry!

The Fry PTA will sponsor grade level fall parties this Thursday for Kdg-2nd and Friday 3rd-5th grade. Thank you PTA and volunteers!

Parent Teacher Conference Sign-up🏫

Parents will need to select a conference time for their student(s) by logging into ParentVue beginning tomorrow, Tuesday Oct. 7th, at 6AM. Conference sign-up will be open for one week.

Conferences are held in-person in the teacher's classroom on Thurs. Oct. 16th from 4:30-8:00 and Monday Oct. 20th from 8:00-3:00 and 4:30-8:00.

Please note, due to time constraints, ONE 20-minute conference slot is allotted PER STUDENT. We are not able to hold separate/multiple conferences for parents.

This Friday, Oct. 10th, District 204 will add iReady Assessment score reports in ParentVue for all students.

Picture Orders & Retakes📸

Now that picture day is complete, parents are able to preview and order photos on the VIP site. https://www.vipis.com/group/08a3b608/fry-elementary-school

Picture retake day is Thurs. Oct. 23rd. If your child needs a retake, please email amy_papa@ipsd.org or call the office at 630-428-7400 to have them added to the retake list.

After School Activities: Third Party Building Rentals🎨

Each semester there are outside agencies/vendors that rent space at our school in order to offer enrichment type activities for students. These activities might include art classes, chess club, coding, etc. More information about these activities can be found in the District 204 "Weekly Update". The last Weekly Update was sent via email Oct. 1st. Below is the "Third Party Educational Programs" section copied from the bottom section of the newsletter. You can check this area of the District 204 Weekly Update for additional information about upcoming programs. The school does not endorse any programs. Each vendor sets its own schedule and pricing.

Early Dismissal🚗

Parents/Guardians: please bring an ID if coming to pick up your child for an early dismissal.

A reminder to parents who may need to pick up students early, copied from our handbook, below:

If parents need to pick up their child early, they should notify the teacher in advance via email whenever possible. When a parent arrives at school, they will need to come to the office (door #1) to sign the student out and indicate the reason for early dismissal. We will call the student out of class when you arrive, so please plan accordingly as packing up and getting to the office takes time. We do not call students down to the office before a parent arrives.

As early dismissals present a disruption to the classroom and the teacher’s end of day routine, all early dismissals must be completed by 3:15. After 3:15, students will not be called out of class and will be dismissed according to their normal routine.

Forgotten Items📚

If your child forgot their lunch, or another essential item, please ensure it is dropped off at school PRIOR to 11:00. Forgotten items are delivered to students at 10:00 and 11:00 ONLY.
