AMCarline-REMINDER"InLineby9:00..classroomdoorby9:04!"🚗

With the colder weather, more families are using the carline for morning drop-off. As a reminder, ALL drivers must adhere to the proper procedures. Drivers must pull ALL THE WAY FORWARD IN THE LINE and FOLLOW STAFF DIRECTIONS. Due to the volume of cars, students must be independent, including exiting the vehicle on their own. If your child cannot get out of your car and shut the door on their own, you should park on Grassmere Dr., just past the carline exit, and assist your child getting out curbside.

Please ensure you are entering the carline by 9:00 AM (9:10 on Wednesday) in order to allow 5 minutes for your child to exit the car and walk all the way to their classroom. Students need to be in class at 9:05, not walking into the building (9:15 on Wednesday). Students who are not in their classroom when the bell rings are marked absent. Students who are late need to go to the office to get a tardy pass and have their absence status changed in the online system.

ProlongedAbsenceMake-upWork📒

Please note our school procedures, copied below from the Fry Parent Handbook:

Prolonged Absence due to Family Vacations: When an absence occurs due to a vacation, students will not be given homework in advance. Alternative assignments such as keeping a journal and assigning some reading may be given when appropriate. Upon returning to school the child will be given make- up work to be completed in a reasonable amount of time.

Prolonged Absence due to Illness: When a student has been absent for three or more days due to illness, teachers will provide homework as appropriate given adequate time to prepare. A teacher might advise alternative assignments such as keeping a journal and assigning some reading when appropriate. Parents are asked to keep in mind that much of what happens in class (direct instruction, discussions, activities, informal assessing, group work, etc.) cannot be made up by sending paper/pencil work home.
